LEARNING TECHNOLOGY PROTOTYPES
The Federation of American Scientists, in partnership with the Digital Promise, has developed three prototypes that use highly effective and interactive educational technologies such as virtual reality, simulation, complex question and answering systems and digitization of rare historical materials to make complex concepts come to life for the learner. The prototypes, based on extensive research on cognition and learning, show the power of new technology to increase the productivity of our education and training systems through making learning more effective, captivating and sophisticated. |

Immune Attack is an educational video game created by the Federation of American Scientists, Brown University, and the University of Southern California. Exploiting the stunning three-dimensional (3D) graphics and gripping interactive and motivational experiences of modern game technology Immune Attack combines 3D depiction of biological structure and function with advanced educational technologies to provide an introduction to basic concepts in immunology for high school and college students.

Discover Babylon
Discover Babylon is an educational video game created by the Federation of American Scientists, the University of California, Los Angeles' Cuneiform Digital Library Initiative, Escape Hatch Entertainment and the Walters Art Museum in Baltimore to demonstrate the potential of educational gaming to transform experiential learning and training. Targeted at ages 8–14, Discover Babylon will use sophisticated video gaming strategies and realistic digital environments to engage the learner in challenges and mysteries that can only be solved through developing an understanding of Mesopotamian society, business practices, and trade.

Multi-Casualty Incident
Multi-Casualty Incident Response is an educational video game created by the Federation of American Scientists, the New York City Fire Department, the Academic Advanced Distributed Learning Co-Lab, University of Wisconsin, and the Wisconsin Technical College System Firefighter training program. This training toolwill exploit the motivational experiences of modern game technology in a training environment that combines realistic simulations with advanced training technologies to teach teams of firefighters.
