Shae Hopkins is the executive director and chief executive officer of KET, Kentucky Educational Television, the only statewide broadcast and multimedia network in Kentucky. KET is recognized as a national leader in local production and educational resources, including early childhood, P-16, teacher professional development, adult education and adult literacy. A 25-year veteran of KET, Hopkins was appointed the fourth leader of KET in its 42-year history in January 2010.
Hopkins was recently recognized with the National Advocacy Award from the Association of Public Broadcasting Stations. She serves on numerous boards including the Governor’s Post-Secondary Education Nominating Commission, the Governor’s Transforming Education in Kentucky Task Force, Kentucky Civil War Sesquicentennial Commission, Kentucky Film Commission, National Educational Telecommunications Association Board, Organization of State Broadcast Executives Board, University of Kentucky College of Communications & Information Studies National Advisory Board, and the PBS Learning Media Station Advisory Board.
