'League of Innovative Schools' Seeks New Ideas, Solutions

03/22/2012 | Last week in Houston, executives from high-profile companies such as Apple and Pearson, entrepreneurs from newer companies like Knewton and Education Elements, and researchers from universities such as Harvard, met with superintendents of forward-looking school districts, who, by joining the league, agree to pursue those goals. Top officials from the U.S. Department of Education, a partner of the league, helped facilitate discussion.

Building a League of Innovative Schools

03/20/2012 | The League, announced at a White House event in September, is an alliance of school districts committed to working with entrepreneurs and researchers to dramatically increase student achievement. The League was launched in partnership with Digital Promise, a new national center to advance breakthroughs in education with technology. Digital Promise is part of the Administration’s broader agenda to spur innovation in education and prepare our Nation’s students for the challenges of a 21st century economy.
